The Barton Strings consist of a small pool of ten local musicians who work interchangeably each week. Eight of the ten have been in the ensemble since the inception. Each musician holds a Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree in music performance from the finest Universities in the country. They are all tenured members of the Austin Symphony Orchestra, Austin Lyric Opera and maintain full time careers as musicians. We have performed back up with such great artists as Lyle Lovett, Darden Smith, Steve Wariner, Chet Atkins, Smokey Robinson, Willie Nelson, Natalie Cole, Moody Blues and Nancy Griffith, to name a few. We have also performed on numerous Disney recordings and we were the string ensemble chosen to perform on Stefan Kostka's Tonal Harmony recording which is the primary recording used in Universities across the country to teach fundamentals of music.
